How does it work?
The ‘Profile yourself’ system allows you to purchase a set of entry codes. These codes give you access to the Profiling for Success assessment area where you can take a specific set of online assessments. After you have taken each assessment, a report describing your results will be sent to you by e-mail. You can order as many assessments as you like and you can complete them whenever you like.
Each assessment you have ordered can only be taken a single time. Once you have completed that assessment online, you will not be able to complete it again.
What information will I get back?
The reports that you receive are tailored to your responses on each assessment. It is important to recognise that no psychometric assessment, including those from Profiling for Success, is perfectly accurate. Reports should therefore be seen as a starting point for your personal exploration and development.
In the case of ability tests (Numerical, Verbal and Abstract Reasoning, Memory and Attention), reports will give a general estimate of your ability in relation to a large group of people who have previously taken the test (the comparison group).
For Personality, Learning Styles and Career Interests questionnaires, your reports will be based primarily on what you say about yourself and not compared to others who have previously taken the test (as with the ability tests).

Will the tests run on my computer?
The PfS assessments have been developed using Macromedia Flash. They will run on most modern PC or Macintosh computers. You need to have Internet Explorer Version 5 or above and also the Macromedia Flash player Version 5 or above installed. The Flash player should already be installed on most recently purchased computers or you may have already downloaded it while visiting other sites. Do I need an e-mail address to receive reports?
Yes. You will be asked to enter an e-mail address to which reports of your results on the tests or questionnaires will be sent. Reports cannot be sent by post. If you do not have your own e-mail address, you can provide the address of a friend or colleague to whom they will be sent.
Since the reports will be sent as HTML attachments, it is important that your e-mail software, anti-virus software or network systems are not set up to prevent the reception of HTML files as attachments. Click here to check whether this is the case.
Note for 'Hotmail' users
The reports will be sent as attachments in an e-mail. If you use a 'hotmail' address, you should be aware that there are often problems with downloading attachments using hotmail. This appears to be a general problem with hotmail accounts and does not just affect PfS reports.
